The Tucker County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management serves as a coordination and resource center for emergencies or potential emergencies that occur in Tucker County.  When natural or man-made disasters occur, the local government has the responsibility to respond and recover from such incidents.  In West Virginia, the chief elected official in each county has the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the county’s response is adequate and that necessary resources are requested and coordinated.  In Tucker County this has been tasked to the Tucker County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management by the President of the County Commission.
